This is a work in progress, something I wanted to do forever...
Some of you tell me the Ladouceur’s are related to everyone in Temiscaming........maybe you’ll understand. Enjoy

Témiscaming family names

I started writing this when I heard Leo Fortin passed away. Leo worked for my great uncle Albert. Leo’s brothers Tibi Fortin and Maurice Fortin grew up and were friends with my uncle Larry Heroux and aunt Liette Ladouceur. And because of those thoughts I started writing this. Today I was called and told that uncle Larry Tibout Heroux passed away……..there’s a reason I started this. It’s a work in progress…….more to follow. This details the family members that were born and or settled in Témiscaming.

For anyone that knows me, they know I love to know how Témiscaming families are related. I would say I came by that honestly, my mamere, Leonida loved to tell us how people were related.

Some families have been in our small town for a 100 plus years. My great grandparents on my fathers side came here in the early 1900’s. One set of great grandparents were Alexina Blais and Calixte Ladouceur and the other great grandparents were Arthur Heroux and Lucinda Boucher they also have been in our community I would say since the 1920’s.

Many of Calixte and Alexina kids settled in our community. They were all raised here, some may have been born here as well. Albert, Roger, Valmort, Lionel, Benoite, Therese, Jeanine and Yvette. They were a hard working family that owned the only town bakery. It was located by the water pumping station in Lumsden.
Lionel Ladouceur settled here. He married Leonida Heroux. Their kids Liette, Claudette, Gilbert, Marguerite, Judith and Daniel

Gilbert married Rosemary they had Tanya and Micheline. Tanya, daughter Frankie with Christian Gaudet of Temiscaming and now the sixth generation, great great grandchild Clarke are all living here in Temiscaming.

My aunt Liette spent a good part of her life here, she married a local, Moe Hey, her son Don joined us after a long absence from Témiscaming. Their son Dave lived here when he was young.

My aunt Judy spent a number of years here, the name Keon would mean something to some of you, she married uncle Spencer Keon. They had five kids, Eldon, Jason, Trina, Loanna and Josh.

Aunt Claudette married a local, Larry Gionet, his father came here. Their son Todd lived here and his 2 kids were born here. David and Olivia.
Many of my fathers siblings have cottages and still come home.

Albert Ladouceur settled here. Albert married a Boucher, Dora. Dora is also my great grandmothers, Lucinda Boucher Heroux’s sister. So Albert’s family are related to the Ladouceur and Boucher gang twice. Albert and Dora had children.

Albert had a thriving business. Something I didn’t know until recently. He was the only contractor in the The Abitibi Temiscamingue region to own large equipment like example a crusher. Mr. Rheal Plouffe has been quoted before telling stories about my great grandfather and my great uncle Albert. Steve Raymond bought Alberts home a few years back. He was at Plouffe store renting equipment and told Mr. Plouffe he bought a new house on Kipawa road……Mr. Plouffe pointed from his business door, to the house and Steve said yes that one. Mr, Plouffe told Steve omg…….if the walls could talk. He explained to Steve how the family that lived there the longest was Albert, and that Real worked for Albert. He told Steve that Albert was related to me. Our next council meeting, Steve told me he head stories about my uncle Albert…..i looked confused I’m sure. Uncle Albert passed away a very long time ago 1950’s maybe……..he must be the most spoken about person in our family, he was a character. One day at the store I asked Rheal about uncle Albert. I sat down with my coffee and listened. When Rheal was a young man, he couldn’t find work in Latulipe, I believe it was. He was told there was work in Témiscaming, the work was with Albert Ladouceur. Dora told him he could live with them. Rheal told me that Victor moved to his home town, up north cause he had work there and Rheal moved to Temiscaming. Uncle Albert had a great judgement for employees and future assets to our community. Real Plouffe had a great construction business and he was very generous individual in our community. He was active.

Over the years I’ve heard so many stories about uncle Albert and his business from the likes of Maurice Fortin who worked for him. And many others. Albert and Dora had Victor, Suzette and Alberte as children.

Victor Ladouceur married a Perrault, Joan. Their kids Denny, Ron and Vicky. Denny has kids in our community as well. Deryn, Brandon and Corey live in Temiscaming.

Suzette met the bank manager Pat April and they had one son Marc.they left the community.

Alberte Ladouceur, the post mistress, had one son, Stephane Savard. Stephane has a family and is still here in Temiscaming today.

Valmort was never married And didn’t have children. But he did live his life In Témiscaming.

Therese Ladouceur married Armand Chenier. They settled in Témiscaming. They one daughter Ginette Chenier.

Ginette married Bob Berry. They settled here. They had Bill and Amanda.

Amanda married Tim Woodbury. They settled in Témiscaming. They have kids.

Billy is with Michelle Fortin. They settled in Témiscaming and are raising children.

Roger married ? And had many children…….need help here.

My great grand mother Lucinda Boucher Heroux, Leonidas Ladouceur mother, had other family members settle here. Zelpha Boucher Monffat, Dora Boucher Ladouceur, Walter Boucher and Aibe Boucher McCann.

Zelpha And her husband had Cyprienne and Solange.

Dora Boucher married Albert Ladouceur who I detailed above as part of the Ladouceur family, lol and no there is no family relation. Just 2 Boucher decedents married to 2 Ladouceur’s, lol.

Aibe Boucher married Jack McCann they had Sidney, Josette, Nicole and
Sidney married Geraldine. They had Larry. Larry married Suzie Turner. Josette had Martin and Josee Berube. Martin settled in Témiscaming and has 2 children.

The next section will detail the Heroux family………..Arthur Heroux married to Lucinda Boucher, sister to Zelpha, Dora and Aibe.

They had Leonida, Gaston, Hercule, Raymond, Larry, Yvette, Gisele, Belle Ange, Jeanette, and Henry.
